Olivia is 5!

Olivia's birthday is July 1st.  Unfortunately, dad was out of town for his grandpa's funeral so we postponed the celebrations until he came back.  He picked up a doll for her on his way back and she couldn't be more excited.
We started a tradition a few years back that the kids get chocolate chip pancakes on their birthday with some birthday candles.  Liv takes after me and doesn't eat chocolate chip pancakes, but she still enjoyed a regular pancake with candles to blow out.  Brian misses this traditional a lot because he's either gone out of town or working, but the kids really look forward to it.

(I'm pretty sure she's happy here.  I think the light coming in from the windows washed her face out and made her look pale).

We celebrated Calin and Liv's birthday together Sunday evening at a friend's house.  I made strawberry shortcake and the kids we able to open the one present each that they got.

Haha...the blanket is our wrapping paper.  We didn't have enough wrapping paper for the huge box and  so thought we would borrow some only to find out they had just used all their wrapping paper on a recent birthday.  She didn't mind!

We gave her a plasma car.  We actually have one for the three youngest kids.  We had bought them from Costco before we even moved to Nebraska, but decided not to give them to the kids because our driveway was just dirt.  Now we have a real driveway so we thought it was a good time, plus it saved us money on gifts this year!
