My family (mom, dad, Amy, Lexi and Emily) came to visit at the beginning of June. I'm a little behind with blogging so this post is a little old, but still worth posting. We spent a few days in Gordon and a few days in Rapid City. We didn't do a ton of things, but just sat and enjoyed each other's company and let the kids play. One afternoon we went out to our friend's farm and let the kids see all the animals. They were able to play with kittens, goats, chickens, bunnies, turkeys, and even pet a buffalo. They are certified organic farmers and sell seed and buffalo meat nationwide. If you have never had buffalo, you should try it. It's lean and much better for you than beef, the downside...it's expensive. Check out eatorganicbuffalo.com
Amy with her baby Lexi. She was just waking up and not sure about all the animals. Her and Isaac are only 4 months apart...she's a doll and looks just like her daddy!
My lil Isaac boy!
Olivia with a kitten. The kids love to hold the kittens when we go out there.
Calin with a kitten.
I think Emily (my niece) is holding a baby bunny there.
Olivia petting a baby goat.
Still half asleep I think!
Sage caught a turkey for the kids to pet. They thought it was cool.
Emily trying to ride a goat. It ended up stopping to eat some grass and threw her off forward. It was so funny....well to all of us but Emily. I think her pride was hurt!
Buffalo are not friendly animals. They are mean and very dangerous. We went out to the pasture to see all the babies and mommas. There were a lot! This buffalo came down with a mystery about 6 months back. She is basically paralyzed and doesn't get up. They will pull her up to get her to move occasionally. But for the most part they just make sure she's a live and has food. She is so used to relying on people that she isn't bothered by them. The kids were able to pet her and feed her some grass. The other buffalo in the background was old and sick, she was not as friendly so we stayed away from her.
The kids had such a great time playing with Emily and Lexi that week. They loved seeing grandpa and grandma too and ask why they had to go home. I love where we live, but it would be nicer if it was closer than 1200 miles to family!

Ang...I can't believe how your family is growing up! Cute kiddos!
