Last week I spent 5 days away from home with a friend. How did we spend it? Learning handgun self-defense! We spent 4 days at Front Sight Firearms Training Institute. We would spend about 7 hours on the range learning how to shoot each day. We went through over 550 rounds of ammunition and had a few blisters. We had a blast. I hope I never have to use a gun to defend my family, but if I ever need to I am happy to say that I know how.

Sounds like fun to me! And something I should look into. We've recently acquired some items for self-defense (including guns, a tazer and a police baton) and I feel the least comfortable with the gun.
ReplyDeleteYou guys were in my dream last night because of this post! In my dream I asked Brian what your motivation for taking that class was and he told me you had witnessed a murder and wanted to be able to keep it from happening to you and your family. So what WAS your motivation for doing it? Or, what made it a priority for you? Looks hard core!
ReplyDeleteIt wasn't too hard core, but very demanding mentally and physically. I am a big gun supporter...especially with a husband who loves guns. I wanted a hang gun so when my friend asked me to come to this training with her, I took her up on it. I bought a gun and learned how to use it. I want to be able to protect my family if I ever have to and not feel I could have done more. Now I have the confidence and skill to carry a gun if I feel I need to.
ReplyDeleteSweet! Warrior woman! Good for you babe!
